The new Edge preview based on Chromium is here! There are currently two channels for developers and for high risk tech enthusiasts. You can get more details at the link below this article.

You can install this version of Edge in parallel to the normal one. Setup seems to be based on the same technology that delivers Office 365 updates.

The two new channels get weekly and daily (!) updates. There will be a "real" beta channel for other users in a few weeks, that will get the most stable build of the last weeks. This channel may get updates less frequently, maybe once a month. All three channels are still preview = test versions! There will be a fourth, "stable" channel sometime later, maybe end of the year. This channel will replace the current Edge and will be part of Windows Update.

Beware: my first setup attempt of the dev channel bluescreened (QUOTA_UNDERFLOW). But I know that others didn't have that problem.
